COVID-19 Testing
Rapid COVID-19 testing and PCR testing. Same-day results.
We can provide either antigen or PCR COVID-19 tests for work or travel purposes of both symptomatic and asymptomatic persons.
Antigen Tests (Rapid Tests) – a method of detecting an active infection with SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes the illness COVID-19. These tests look for antigens, which are protein markers found on the outside of a SARS-CoV-2 virus. There needs to be a higher level of viral load for the Antigen tests to pick up on the virus. Antigen tests are generally used as a screening tool.
PCR tests – used to directly screen for the presence of viral RNA, which will be detectable in the body before antibodies form or symptoms of the disease are present. This means the tests can tell whether or not someone has the virus very early on in their illness. These results take roughly 1.5 hours for results once the swabs return to our office. Should any of the PCR test come back positive, we do send them to Winnipeg so they can be processed through the Public Health System.
